Club 90 Business Network Club addresses Marketing and Rapport-building during lockdown

The Alderley Edge Club 90 Business Network Club held its first virtual meeting yesterday since the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown took hold.

Organised by Colony Networking in conjunction with business and marketing consultancy, Think Beyond, business delegates from across Alderley Edge, Manchester and the North West, dialled in to join the popular “Club 90” quarterly meeting.

Kirsty James from Colony Networking opened the session with tips on maintaining consistent visibility and connection during lockdown. She was followed by leadership coach, Paul Raisbeck who focused on rapport building and understanding other people’s current ecosystems in our new virtual world. Mercè Cozens of Think Beyond, rounded off the presentations with helpful tips for adapting current marketing behaviour and messages.

An open question and answer session followed and the online meeting was rounded off with facilitated networking.

Club 90 goes virtual for Covid-19

Mercè commented, “Firstly, I would like to thank Paul Raisbeck for his detailed insights. And of course, my co-host Kirsty James, at Colony Networking for helping to make online business networking an enjoyable reality.”

“As a team, we worked hard to adapt “Club 90” business meetings to allow local companies to continue to connect, grow and learn. At the same time, we remain safe and compliant with social distancing guidelines.”

“We took the networking and business lunch club concept online for the first time. Thankfully, it all went smoothly. Although we are virtual, we are still the same Club 90 with the same drive.”

Kirsty added, “I’m delighted that Club90 events are going ahead as planned, though temporarily online of course.”

“Think Beyond and Colony Networking began contingency planning early March for an eventuality everyone hoped would never occur.”

“The event’s survival and adaptability is proof that networking still has an important part to play. It is an integral and cost-effective element that can evidence consistency, visibility and agility to your market and associates at a critical time of adaptation.”

“The logistics of networking may well have entered a new era but the founding premise has not. Now more than ever, connection at a human level, both for personal as well as business support, is critical.”

Paul said: “When Kirsty and I first talked about what my subject would be today – pre lockdown – we decided rapport building skills would be a useful thing to focus on.”

“Little did we know at the time how important the ability to ‘read and connect’ with your audience would suddenly become, especially in helping business owners to decide when and how to market to others sympathetically in these uncertain times.”
